February 5 , 2004
Since my last journal I went out to Cahuilla Creek for the Transworld Motorcross
Day. Cahuilla Creek is a bit of a drive from Orange County, but well worth it. Especially because it rained a bit the day before and the dirt was nice and loamy. There were a couple pros out there, but I had fun just cruising around on my little 125. I finally got to ride a 4-stroke and it was pretty sweet. Anybody looking to buy a 99’ YZ 125? Yeah, didn’t think so.

That weekend I went to the Supercross in San Diego and ended up spending the weekend out there with my Mom and some friends, which was cool. I got up that Saturday morning and decided to go to Yoga class with my friend and her Mom that just about kicked my ass. I swear the 60-year-old woman in front of me looked like a pretzel while I was starting to break a sweat standing on one leg. After about 20 min. I started to get the hang of it.

During the week I’m either meeting up with Carter to go jumping or trying to lift a few pounds at the gym and work on increasing booty size. So far so good.

Just this past weekend I flew up to Tahoe with a bunch of friends and went snowboarding in Kirkwood. It was awesome! I haven’t been on my snowboard for a little over two years so I didn’t know how I would do. My friend Polly had only been once and I hung out with her on the bunny slopes for a few runs before she got too much snow down her pants and had to go into the bar for a bit. I went back out and went to the top and got in a few good runs before she decided to give it one more go. In the end she did good, but ended up with a bruised butt. We all got a kick out of that.

The next day wasn’t quite as sunny, but we had a blast. When we came in and got some lunch we thought it was only appropriate that we have a shot or two in the spirit of SuperBowl Sunday. We went back out and I couldn’t even get off the damn lift let alone make it down the hill! I was laughing so hard my stomach ached.
Ahhh….good times. But once we flew back on Monday it was back in el gimnasio for a little workout.

This past Tuesday was the Oakley basketball game that I played in. I’m a bit of a traitor because I’m a Smith athlete, but I just like to play. I showed up and wasn’t originally on a team, but was drafted onto the MX team. We ended up winning the tournament and a nice little watch for our efforts. Sweet. So it’s now about 5 pm on Thursday and I think I’ll go to the BMX track. See you later!

January 19, 2004

So it's been many many moons since I last wrote and I'm sorry about that, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that nobody lost any sleep over it. My life got a little crazy around the beginning of November because I moved and I couldn't help but be a big stress ball. So many papers to sign and meetings with realtors, loan people, and stupid stuff that I barely felt like I had time to sleep. Finally I got moved in and all of a sudden the holidays were sneaking up on me. Thanksgiving came and went. I ended up going out to the river with family and having a great time. I came back after Turkey Day to race the "Day In The Dirt" motocross race with Mercedes. I was stoked to be her teammate. Neither one of us had ridden our bikes in so long it was hilarious. I hadn't because of the past off-season, which was spent recovering from my stupid crash and Mercedes was busy having another baby. Between Cameron her little boy (I think he's going on 3 yrs. old) and little Danielle she's got her hands full. We almost missed the start because she was changing diapers. I think we ended up dead last with the worst case of arm pump in history, but we didn't care because we were laughing the whole time.

By then Christmas was around the corner and I was still dealing with getting settled in and getting on my training program. My coach and sat down and worked on my goals for the upcoming season and we were off. I slowly got back in the gym and into a routine and it felt good. Christmas was nuts as usual but I made out nicely with the new Apple Ipod I had been wanting as well as a new cell phone. Since mine would only ring when it felt like it and the screen would occasionally turn on it was about time. Too bad I'm am sooo not electronically inclined. I have yet to use my Ipod since it won't seem to download songs and as far as the cell phone goes...I swear that thing is so tech. I could call Mars, and yet I only get half my calls because I can't figure out how to turn the ringer up. I'm just not one of those people that can sit and read the stupid manuals. I just don't have the patience I guess. Whatever! I'd rather be out doing something active than inside.
Anyway, so since the holidays and I'm sure gaining a good 10 lbs. I've been weaning myself off the junk food and getting back to the healthy stuff. In the meantime my teammate Adam came into town and stayed a bit. I managed to get us somewhat lost on an mtb ride in Laguna for a couple hours, but it was all good. He didn’t really care as long as the weather was nice. He’s from Maine and it’s frickin’ freezing out there right now!

I just recently got back to going to the motocross track once a week. I've been meeting up with my friends and fellow mtb'ers Jeff Evans, David K, and Jeremiah. Jeremiah and I ride till' we feel like our arms are gonna fall off...which usually amounts to about 3 or 4 laps. I forgot how hard it was to hang on unless you ride a few times a week. It's all good though.... we have a good time. This past weekend was the second Anaheim Supercross. I went with some friends that had never been to an SX before so it was fun to kind of explain it to them. The racing was pretty good, but since both Ricky and Bubba are out it seems like Tedesco and Reed are kind of running away with it. Windham and Vuillemin gave Reed a run for his money in the main, but once he passed them it was over. Actually I think he won. We ended up leaving with about 5 laps to go.
Anyway, I'm just having fun going jumping with Carter at Sheep and hanging out at my new place before I leave for Aus!! Yup, I'm going to Australia for a month in February and can't wait. I’ll get to do some riding with Rando, Katrina, and hopefully a whole mess of people.

So I’m off to go ride. Happy trails….
