Today has been so busy I feel like my heads gonna fall off. I actually made it to the gym this morning and got in a good workout and since then I’ve just been running around. I had to go pick up my Giant Reign from Carters so I could pack it for Portugal. I didn’t have a bike box though so he sent me over to The Path bike shop in Tustin since it’s by his house. The guys were super nice and totally helped me out. Thanks Brandy! I usually go to Jones bikes in Long Beach since it’s just down the street from my house and they always hook me up.

So now I have to figure out when I’m gonna have time to go to my condo in Newport to paint and do a thorough cleaning before the next tenant moves in. Yikes!! He wants to move in this weekend and I don’t get back from Lisbon till’ Sunday afternoon. The one day I’ll be home next week I’m taking my mom in for her oral surgery and then I leave the next day for Boulder for a Pearl Izumi catalogue shoot and to talk about some products. Whew. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but my head is spinning.

Anyway, I’m stoked for Portugal. I am a little nervous though. I told the promoter when I’m flying in and all, but you never really know if someone is gonna be there to get you. Ha Ha...that should be fun.

O.K, well that’s all for now. C-ya!

So the week after Otter I just decided to pretty much take off. I think my body needed to recoup. You know even though I’ve been racing bikes pretty much my whole life..or at least it seems that way..I think I have a pretty good grasp on how to train. More specifically what type of training works best for me. Or how to eat good, stretching, keeping hydrated, yada, yada, yada. Even though I know all those things I always seem to forget one of the most important things. REST! Not to say that I don’t make sure I rest and recover, but I don’t think I do it enough.

I’m just one of those types of people that has to force myself to sit still. If I’m at home let’s say and actually not doing anything I should probably elevate my legs and relax for at least a half an hour But I struggle and I really have to make myself. So the reason I’m saying all this is because the week after Otter I did feel a bit bad for not riding or anything. But I’ll tell you what…this past week I felt great! It’s like I just needed a recharge or something. And belive me a week not having to look at the inside of the gym did wonders. You know your at the gym too much when you walk outside to get in your car and you have no freakin’ clue where you parked cuz’ you remember parking somewhere else the last 50 times you were there! Although I do go sometimes just to play b-ball, but whatever.

So I’m just about to leave for San Diego for the weekend. A bunch of friends got some tickets to see some comedian named Brian Reagan. He supposed to be pretty funny, but we’ll see. I’m always pretty tough to please when I go see a comedian. I feel like O.K, your supposed to make me laugh now say something funny. I’m sure after a couple drinky drinks he’ll be freakin’ hilarious. I might meet up with Mikey (King) and see what he’s doing tonight.

That’s my little rant. Other than I’ll be leaving Wednesday for the race down the streets of Lisbon in Portugal, but I’ll try to write again before I go.
See ya.
