1. What bikes do you ride? And which is your favorite?
I ride lots of bikes, My favorite kind is the one with no gears or shocks. I’m a big rigid singlespeed proponent.

2. How many days a week are you on your bike?
Seven unless I’m going on some big skiing or kayaking trip.

3. Would you ever want to race in the Tour de France?
Nope, as of now, maybe that will change as I grow old and bored.

4. What do you eat the night before a race?
I had Salmon and Sweet Potatoes tonight, it’s pretty random, from burritos to pasta, always cereal before bed.

5. Who do you train with or would you rather train by yourself?
I ride alone a fair bit, but head out with local Bend boys Chris Sheppard and Carl Decker quite a bit too, and whoever random is around.

6. When was the last time you were drunk?
Hmmmm, a serious one beer buzz floating the river a couple days ago, beyond that, it’s been too long.

7. What race are you most proud of and why?
Getting 5th at Worlld Cup Finals in Livigno last fall, first World Cup podium for me and showed me I’ve got what it takes.

8. Who has the worst gas on the team?
Dumb question, ME.

9. What do you do in the off-season?
I enjoy myself to the fullest. Riding dirt bikes, kayaking, skiing, riding entertaining trails, going new places, just having a damn good time.

10. So are the Euro XC guys on the juice?
If they are then they’re pretty pathetic, as I’m just a kid who likes riding bikes and I can almost beat them. I guess natural talent is on par with manufactured talent, which is good to know.

11. Are you dating anyone?
Nope, kind of wanting to though.

12. With all the miles that you fly are you part of the mile high club?
Nope, but it’s always on my mind. When opportunity knocks.

13. If you won Worlds how would you celebrate?
I’d wear the rainbow jersey on the flight home and join the mile high club.

14. Shittiest course ever and why?
Big bear just because I hate it there, and any world cup in Germany.

15. Favorite music?
Liking the underground hiphop these days.

16. Hottest pro XC chick?
Tough call, Kelli Emmett is beautiful, but Shonny is way more jacked, and I like that.

17. Toughest competitor right now and why?
Geoff Kabush, until I can beat him on home turf all the time I can’t totally focus on world cups.

18. How many calories do you consume a day? Approx.
The last time I thought about this was in 2000 at the OTC in Colorado Springs, they were counting calories for us and it was around 3500, and that was with a badass buffet at my fingertips from 7am-10pm. Don’t really look at it much these days.

19.Have you ever spent any time in a Turkish Prison?
Nope, but I hope to after my world championship celebration involves deflowering a Turkish woman in a 747 Lavatory.

20.You have said in the past that coffee drinkers are a total pain in the ass; can you elaborate on that comment?
Say you’ve just spent the day traveling to a race somewhere, you’re almost to the hotel and, BAM, you’re turning around because someone “senses” that there’s a starbucks somewhere in a ten mile radius (of course there is!) and you spend the next hour looking for frickin’ coffee instead of channel surfing with my feet up. And it tastes terrible anyway.
